It’s the first day of summer! Though the scorching summer heat has made an appearance earlier this month in New York. Summer is finally here, which means my beauty routine makes a complete 360°.

Before I even start with the makeup I wanted to start on what I carry in my purse during the summer. My face is general really dry during the spring, fall, and winter, but once summer hits my skin goes from dry to combination/oily.

To fix too much shine I use the Palladio Rice Paper blotting tissues ($4.50). The first time I ever tried them was when I was about 11 or 12 years old. My mom bought them for herself and as always I had to try them out too because I wanted to be like my mom. I fell in love with the product and now 10 years later I’m still using it.

I have used other blotting papers and none of them compare to these.

When it comes to my general face makeup routine, I change it during the summer because my skin is different and some products do not work for me during the summer. I usually use a full coverage foundation, but during the summer it is too heavy for my skin. Instead I use the Laura Mercier light weight Tinted Moisturizer in ‘Bisque’ ($44) and it has SPF 20 in it so I don’t have to worry about putting sunscreen on my face. Since it is light coverage, I put my usual concealer the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye in ‘Medium’ ($24), which I got in my ipsy bag (this my referral link I only get points to redeem free items).

It’s summer we all get sweaty and sometimes your makeup sweats off. I use the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($31) to keep my makeup on longer than it would if I didn’t set it. I’ve been using this spray for 5 years and I love it.

Something that I love for the summer is a highlight that reflects the sun. I do get tan during the summer so I use a more golden highlighter. My favorite golden toned highlighter at the moment is the Colour Pop Super Shock Highlighter in ‘Wisp’ ($8).

Lastly, my hair is naturally curly and during the summer it is harder to keep it straight or even wavy. During the summer I have my hair curly more often than in the other seasons.

To make sure my curls look nice and are not frizzy I use the Curls Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste ($7.99). I don’t only use this product during the summer, but all year round whenever I have my hair natural.

Again, my mom bought this for herself, but I started to use it and I loved it. My mom is the best and we share beauty products all the time.
