Happy May Fourth everyone. This year as every year I did a casual Leia outfit, though this year I held it more special to my heart because of the untimely passing of Carrie Fisher. I decided to go all out and wear something cute in the middle of casual and dressy. I did a 60’s Mod style Leia outfit.
You have to start with the hair because you can’t have a Leia outfit without buns (you can also do her braid that wraps around her head, but my hair is far too short for that). The buns were harder to do this year since I cut my hair, half up and half down space buns are easier for short hair but I was scared no one will realize I was wearing a Princess Leia inspired outfit.
For the outfit I wore a white mock neck shift dress, which I got from Forever 21 about a year ago. It’s no longer available, but there are similar ones out there. You can also make a shift dress, they are relatively easy to sew (here’s a link on how to) and add a mock neck.
Makeup:
My makeup was inspired by Twiggy, and other 1960s models. I used LaSplash Eyeliner ($14) for a wing and lined under my lower lash line. I then used the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eyeliner in ‘Blacquer’ ($25) on my waterline. On my crease I used the NYX Slide On Pencil in ‘Brown Perfection’ ($8).
